The experts have suggested that there will be no ‘minnows’ at the next RWC & have questioned what can be done to bring about even greater improvement in the interceding 4 years – here’s a suggestion: why don’t we allow teams from Samoa, Tonga & Fiji in the Super 16 & why stop there & not allow them, like Argentina, into the competition between them, RSA, NZ & Australia? Why Japan & not these countries? Can you imagine the improvement in their rugby if they played together regularly rather as a 7-a side team or every four years as a 15 man team in the RWC? At the same time RWC funds should be set aside for such players to remain in their countries rather than migrating/being poached by (especially) NZ, be it for the Super 16 and/or the NZ national side
