Here’s my approach to mornings:
• People tend to oversleep – the emphasis must be on quality sleep: find out what works for you
• Accept that it is ALWAYS hard to get up, whether you’ve had enough sleep or not
• Think about what you are going to do first the next day the night before so that you wake up ‘with a mission’
• Don’t think ‘work’ – think of the lovely cup of coffee/tea
• You dehydrate at night so have two glasses (250 ml each) of water … & keep this up throughout the day
• Your metabolism is in a ‘slump’ when you wake up so get it going with mild exercise (While you wait for the kettle to boil) & get the endorphins going!
• A agree about the ‘FROG’ but I call it ‘PITA’ – get a Pain In The Arse item off your checklist first thing
• Then reward yourself e.g. think about/plan/book your next holiday
• Plan your day meticulously by the hour BUT allow an extra 15 minutes per task so you don’t become stressed/exasperated
• Allow for breaks & exercise twice a day even if it is only for ½ hour – you will be rewarded with a quality & healthy lifestyle
• LAUGH OFTEN! =
